Wannamaker County Park hosts Holiday Hoedown Dec. 7
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC [PRESS RELEASE] – In an effort to provide ongoing recreation and social opportunities for community members with disabilities, the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) invites people with special needs to a Holiday Hoedown event on Dec. 7 at Wannamaker County Park.
People with special needs and their families and caregivers are invited to attend the event, which will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite western gear to welcome the holiday country-style.
Light refreshments will be provided and DJ will be playing favorite songs to keep attendees dancing. Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the Holiday Festival of Lights mascot, Wattson, will be on hand to greet visitors and get the crowd in the holiday spirit.
“The Holiday Hoedown started in 2012 and brings people with all abilities together to celebrate the holiday season,” said Melissa Bernhardt, festival and event coordinator for CCPRC.
Tickets are $4 and chaperones are free of charge. Advance purchase is recommended and tickets can be purchased by calling 843-795-4386. If available on site, tickets will be $5 each.
The Holiday Hoedown is a part of CCPRC’s AccessABILITY program. CCPRC’s AccessABILITY program strives to meet the growing needs of community members with disabilities.
