Weekend Winedown – What’s Happening This Week in the Lowcountry
CHARLESTON, SC (ADAM BRADLEY, WTAT-TV) – Happy October! This is my favorite time of year where the air gets a little crisper, the leaves change color and I can finally break out my Uggs and pumpkin spice toothpaste. It’s also Halloween-time!
Boone Hall Fright Nights is a bit of a Lowcountry tradition and it is in full swing now through the end of the month. Enjoy getting the pants scared off you in the woods, in the corn, at the farmhouse and in the clearing. Attraction passes are sold individually or you can save some money but going all in with a ScreamPass or a VIP option which lets you skip to the front of the line. Info and tickets are online at BooneHallFrightNights.com.
For something much less terrifying how about the traditional home invasion?
Well, sort of. Each year around this time the Preservation Society of Charleston offers tours of some privately owned historic houses, gardens, churches and public buildings that tell the story of Charleston. Garden tours, photography walkabouts, and short, hyper-focused tours are available on various days. There are loads of options here and these are arguably the best “tourist in your own town” events of the year. Visit preservationsociety.org to get your tickets.
