Audit of Mayoral Spending Approved
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) – A debate over $10.00 has turned into a full-fledged audit of Charleston Mayor Tecklenburg’s spending.
Councilman Harry Griffin accused the mayor of spending ten extra dollars of city funds to put his wife’s contact information on the back of his business card, which led to an intense discussion at the council meeting that took place Tuesday night.
During the meeting, it was also revealed that the mayor’s wife drives his city-funded vehicle.
Mayor Tecklenburg agreed to a full financial audit.
