DD2 Budget Falls Short For Next Year
DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WTAT-TV) – According to district officials, the budget for Dorchester District Two is short $8-million for the next school year.
The district is asking the county council to allocate more funding. Superintendent, Joseph Pye says that class sizes will be the first thing to go if they do not receive funding.
The budget will be presented to the county council next week. One councilman says while they want to help, that amount of money is not possible.
Dorchester District Two has included $6.5-million of critical items to the budget including salary increases for teachers, more security, and mental health counselors.
