Local Child Author Spreading Positive Message Through Characters
CHARLESTON, SC (WTAT-TV) BRADIE ROSSA – Almost four years ago, the City of Charleston and the whole world were shaken after the untimely death of 9 innocent church goers. One thing that brought us all together in this time of grief was strength, peace, love and unity. We are still healing from this today and with a little help from Makayla Tyler, we are honoring those Emanuel 9 who lost their lives.
Makayla Tyler is an Atlanta native raised in Summerville, SC. She is a 10-year-old child author with goals to encourage her peers to embrace themselves and spread love through valuable life lessons. Her book, Love 7, promotes positive character traits for children, anti-bullying efforts, good behavior, moral principles, teamwork, and good citizenship. She is passionate in spreading her positive message all over the world.
As the anniversary of the tragedy approaches, Barnes & Noble June Book Fair is honoring and remembering the lives lost with Makayla Tyler’s Love 7. The event will take place on June 1st at 10:30am located at 1812 Sam Rittenburg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407.
