CCPRC Offers Plenty of Family Fun During Hot Summer Days

CHARLESTON, SC (FOX 24 NEWS NOW) — Get your bathing suits on! It’s time to make a splash in this warm Carolina heat!

We’re all hoping the rain stays at bay this holiday weekend, and, if it does, you can splash around with Charleston County Parks and Recreation.

Public Information Coordinator, Sarah Reynolds stopped by to talk about some exciting openings and June events that will be fun for the whole family.

Upcoming Events:

– Reggae Nights Concert Series
– James Island County park
– Featuring traditional old school roots reggae with a new school attitude.
– Kicks off June 1st with Ras Bonghi Reggae All-Stars
– Continues June 22nd with NDKA.
– Gates open at 7:30 p.m., music begins at 8:30 p.m.
– $10 adult admission
– free for ages 12 or under and Gold Pass members

– Salute the Solstice Yoga Festival
– June 21st at James Island County Park
– presented by CCPRC, Move It! Charleston County and the Charleston Yoga Community
– an event celebrating our connection and the light that is within each of us.
– you’ll experience meditation, 108 sun salutations, safe hands-on adjustments and live music from Thomas Champagne and friends
– proceeds from t-shirts will benefit Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center and Amor Healing Kitchen
– $25 pre-registration
– $30 on-site registration
